Quick 4 sale

Friday's issue of Quick, DMN's weekday freebie that distills the Day's Big Stories into 1-graf summaries, had an unusual cover. Unusual = the entire thing was an ad. I believe they call it a "wrap," as in, it wraps around both the front and back of the publication, a veritable cashmere blanket of advertising income.

Why bring this up, you might ask. (Please ask.) Because I can still remember the gnashing of teeth, the wringing of hands, the indignant moaning-and-groaning about journalistic integrity at the DMN in the early 2000s (and this was on the Lifestyles-fluffy 4th floor, no less) when they first floated the idea of selling ads -- tiny ones! just along the bottom! -- on the front of sections such as Guide and page 1.
Seems like they've made peace with that whole concept now.

So they're celebrating their birthday with Jessica Simpson's face?

Why punish the advertiser? It's not them who sold out. Now I WANT to know who it is, I'll have to run out and find a copy....Quick!
