Big contest: Wildflower Arts and Music Festival

Square Pegs

Published: May 11, 2007

Richardson's Wildflower Arts and Music Festival is next weekend.

It's a big weekend of music featuring: Bo Diddley, Jo Dee Messina, Tracy Byrd, The Austin Lounge Lizards, Better Than Ezra, Fastball, John Waite, The Romantics, Eddie Money, Le Freak, The Original Family Stone, Morris Day and The Time, Foghat, Shooter Jennings, Grand Funk Railroad and Paramount’s LaserSpectacular featuring the Music of Pink Floyd.

I'm personally most excited by The Family Stone, even sans Sly.

We have a big prize package for those who are inclined to get cool stuff for free. There are two ways to enter:

1. Go to this page and post a comment indicating who you are most interested in seeing.

2. Send an email, copying me (mikeorren at pegasusnews dot com), to at least five local friends telling them why you use Pegasus News and encouraging them to follow suit. DO NOT SPAM PEOPLE YOU DON'T KNOW.

The comment and email each count as one entry. The winner gets:

- Two VIP wristbands to the entire festival. These come with a parking pass, access to the hospitality suite, and reserved seating at the big stages. Each wristband (2 for each day, for a total of six) contains five pull-off tabs that can each be redeemed for an adult beverage.

- A box o' swag containing:

  • An Interstate Batteries ballcap

  • A Dasani ballcap

  • A Pink Floyd t-shirt, size large

  • A Romantics t-shirt, size large

  • A NASCAR 2007 wall calendar

  • A 97.5 KLAK koozie

  • A 102.1 KDGE koozie

  • A festival compilation CD, which you can hear on our preview radio station

  • Eddie Money's Wanna Go Back CD

  • Joe Dee Messina's Greatest Hits CD

  • Tracy Byrd's Different Things CD

  • A Dallas Observer 2006 Best of Dallas flask*

  • A sticker for the old 92.5 KZPS

  • Three (3) PrimaCare magnets

  • PrimaCare handwash, lip gloss and sunscreen

  • A pair of 3-d glasses

  • Four (4) 96.3 KSCS magnets

  • Miscellaneous pens and buttons

Quite a haul. Get emailing and commenting. Winner will be decreed as of noon Wednesday.

* Flask may be swiped by a Pegasus staffer before you pick up your prize. Caveat prizewinner.

We have a winner!

Longtime reader and content partner Scott Miller, proprietor of Slacker Country won the drawing. He had an edge, because he not only posted a comment on the fest, but was the only user who went for the additional entry by emailing his friends to tell them they should check out our site.

Congrats, Scott! The tickets and swag are ready when you are.
