New feature: Radio, radio

We're all about bringing you all the local information we can get our electronic mitts on, regardless of medium.
So, we're psyched about the first rendition of our new local radio feature, courtesy our friends at RadioTime. They're another locally-based media startup with broader national aspirations. They create programming guides for more than 36,000 global radio stations and then provide instant deeplinking to their audio streams. They can even help you record your favorite radio shows, local and otherwise so you can listen to them on your Ipod.
We've collaborated to create a local radio guide that you'll find on each hubpage on the site. (See example from Metro, above.) It leads you to all the local programming in a given topic area (metro, sports, music, etc.) and even displays which shows are live right now.
We're pretty confident that we've found all the local programs in their database, but if we (or they) are missing a locally-focused radio show that streams, let us know and we'll get it added.
We're hoping to make this a bit more customized and customizable as RadioTime rolls out new technology. But already, this is a good way to find some ear candy while you're reading the site (and if you've had your fill of local music).

DFW being a transient community, its great to have a one stop shop to pick up stations all over the country to get a flavor of where we come from and it takes us home. More great technology, all listed. Took me 20 seconds to set up the account and well worth it. I just finished listening to WCCO in my home town of Minneapolis/St. Paul. It's also nice to patronize another web based business from Dallas Fort Worth. We are in a technology rich area. Kudos to Pegasus News.
