No White Stripes at the Austin City Limits Festival. According to Stereogum, Meg White had a bit of a breakdown.
Reinforcing my decision to catch ACL's table scraps as they gas-stop in Dallas.
Speaking of which, have you voted for my song yet?

A "breakdown," you say. Well, this further confirms the rumors . . .

Well, are you gonna list those gas-stop shows or are you going to make us look them up ourselves?

I was speaking more generally, as they always happen.
One I know of is Wilco, 'cos I'm going. (Listening to opener Dr. Dog now. My take is they sound like New Pornographers crossed with a paper shredder. And that's not as bad as it sounds. I'll likely catch the back end of their set.)
Queens of the Stone Age play HOB Sunday
Arctic Monkeys also at Palladium on Sunday
Muse at Nokia on Sunday
But it looks like we're generally getting skipped this year. Wonder why...

Caught Massive Attack last year - pretty fun as long as you like depressing Bristol trip hop.

Off the top of my head, I know the Killers (Nokia Live Sept. 13), Muse (Nokia Live Sept. 16), and the Kaiser Chiefs (HOB Sept. 18) are also making stops in DFW. I'd probably catch the Killers and Kaiser Chiefs except I'll be getting my music jones here instead: http://www.tellurideblues.com/.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Colby, or the bubble of people actually planning on going, but the Kaiser Chiefs canceled their show:

No Amy Winehouse or Rodrigo y Gabriela for the ACL crowd, either. Quelle bummer!
And if the Weather Channel's anything to go by, festival-goers might want to bring along the rain ponchos and umbrellas for this one...

I followed suit after WS cancelled considering them and Rodrigo y Gabriela were my two motivations to make the drive and pay for a ticket.
Hopefully the stripes will come back to TX before 2020. =(
