Fight that terrorism

If you're renewing your vehicle registration any time soon, which I recently was, you should be getting one of these inserts regarding license plates you can buy.
You got your eagles, your flags, your lone stars, your God Bless, etc.
But a more recent option is the Fight Terrorism plate, replete with a clever blend of a shape of a pentagon with the Twin Towers as an '11' and - ah just look at it.

You can fetch one of these fetching plates for $30,
$22 of which "goes to funding state highway and public road policing," according to a 'Deanna' from TxDOT.

In related news:

Oh crap, why wasn't I informed of an e-vote for the new license plate design? That thing looks like it's straight outta the 80's.

And last I checked, 'IB6-UB9' was unfortunately taken.

I don't feel right putting something on my car that doesn't have a foreign-manufactured yellow ribbon on it.

You can actually check availability of personalized plate tags online:

It's confirmed that IB6UB9 is taken. =( However, the following are available:
Among others. Limited to 6 characters though, dammit (also available FYI) - wonder if it'll expand to 7 with next year's new plates. Unfortunately, 'Miko' is either taken or flat-out inappropriate.

Nice find Scott.
Note to PegNews staff who occasionally get stuck on a tease photo. This little tool is rife with possibilities:

Oh geez...Orren, would you just hire this guy already? P.S. I want him on my team for the next Trivial Pursuit tournament...whenever that happens.

I'm actually not that great of a Trivial Pursuit player, jtmbls.
Problem #1 is there's usually drinking involved, meaning I have more important things on my mind (next drink, etc). #2 - I make it a point NOT to retain useless info about 80's bands, what author had jaundice, and so forth. #3 - My friends who absolutely love that kinda stuff take it far too seriously and I guarantee the game will drag on FOREVER due to arguments and general douchebaggery.
A much better game is Steve Jackson's Illuminati, imo. Since treachery and deceit is openly allowed, I'm already mentally prepared for people's douchebaggery as I plot their demise.

Speaking of which, we need to get an Illuminati game together.
In fact, I think the next Pegasus News contest should be decided by an Illuminati tournament.

Ahhh...Restricted site. Must be fun!
But there is hope for you yet in the TP world. (Can't link so I must quote)
Forbes .com - On Monday, Pawtucket, R.I.-based Hasbro announced it had purchased all intellectual property rights related to the the quintessential adult board game from Horn Abbot, the company set up by the game's inventors, for $80 million.
“The licensing agreement was fruitful for both parties,” said Phil Jackson, Hasbro’s group executive for games. “Whole ownership gives us the chance to increase visibility and capitalization of the brand in areas like digital entertainment, publishing, promoting, television and anything else that comes over the horizon.”

Interesting.
Pretty sure I'd still like Illuminati more, though. Nothing quite like stabbing your friends in the back and earning their gamer respect for doing it.
I concur with Pavel. Time for a linky-loop!
