Newspapers, guns and money

One of our ad reps was just on the phone with a group that puts on events where firearms and blades are sold.
She just learned that after years of advertising with a certain local daily newspaper, to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars per year (easily enough to pay for a cub reporter), they were told by that newspaper that they could no longer name those products in their advertising.
Make all the arguments for civic responsibility you like-- this is an event that's perfectly legal and held on city-owned property. We'll happily run their ads, and at a fraction of the cost they were paying. If they want to go all-in, I'll give knives to our most active users. I believe they have the intellect and restraint to use them legally and properly -- unlike newspaper readers who apparently are ill-bred savages who can't be trusted with a map to a gun show.
Hope that paternalistic stance is a comfort when your stock drops below a plug nickel.

Ed: I have no specific knowledge of crimes they may or may not be committing. And that's good enough for any "small l" libertarian.

I Dont own a gun, have dug up some antique ones, bullets, seen the affects of what they can do, and the kind of raging people who do own them......why are they so dangerous...because, they have life and death in their grip and fools and wise men have had to use them for the fate of a situation.....until then..A/T, Rubber Band Gun.
