My one-year anniversary with Pegasus News
Posted By Minnie Payne in Square Pegs on January 1, 2008
Today, Jan. 3, one year ago, Pegasus News President Mike Orren hired me, a 73-year-old recent Texas Woman’s University graduate, to write for his paper. He trusted me and gave me the freedom to use the knowledge that I gained at TWU and the University of North Texas. For that, I’m grateful!
The year has been filled with many happy memories, and I feel that my association with Pegasus News has made me a better all-around person. We have a talented, hard-working, ethical staff.
I have covered a variety of stories, but have especially enjoyed profiling the top five officials of metroplex cities. We continue giving as many metroplex cities as possible an opportunity to take part in this ongoing process.
On a personal note, I continue to work at age 74, because if I’m not doing something constructive I’m not happy. I only pray that I’ll be blessed with good health so that on my second Pegasus News anniversary, at age 75, I’ll be able to write another blog.
Thank you, Mike and staff.

Thank you, Minnie!
Minnie does a great job cranking out truly "hyperlocal" news and profiles AND makes amazing cookies. She's always a ray of sunshine around here. And I'm tapping her right now to write our tenth anniversary retrospective in 2016.
