Web obsession of the day — Live-action Garfield
Posted By Alex Bentley in Square Pegs on January 16, 2008
The comic strip Garfield has always been like a train wreck to me -- I don't want to read it, yet I'm inexplicably drawn to it since it's been in the comics almost my entire life. And yet, I don't think I've genuinely laughed at it once in all that time. That is, until today when I was pointed to a genius by the name of LasagnaCat, who has posted a series of YouTube videos that takes the strip off the pages and into live action. The reason why they're great? No, it's still not the "jokes", the vision of people dressed up as Jon, Garfield, and Odie, or even the canned laughter and drumroll to punctuate a punchline. Rather, it's the seemingly random music videos LasagnaCat chooses to follow each strip. My favorite? Garfield and Jon set to the music of Nine Inch Nails:

Chad Jones, says:
Jim Davis is a terrorist.
