I dropped by the Uncle Barky Show yesterday, where our intrepid team was shooting video of the long-form interview with CBS 11's Tracy Rowlett.
Rowlett was candid as I hoped he would be and it should make for an good video, which we'll run here and over the airwaves Dallas iMedia. We'll get this one up a bit quicker than the last one, thanks to the toils of our office manager, Eron; Tamara in the Seattle Office and Brett, who set up our snazzy new video editing workstation on Friday.
In the meantime, here's some bonus Tracy -- and Pegasus -- to tide you over. While chatting with our team after the show, I realized that even most of our staff has never seen our first bit of TV publicity from waaaaay back in July of 2005.
Tracy was doing a piece on blogging and was looking for a traditional media person who'd taken the plunge. He was planning to use Eric Celeste, but Eric wasn't blogging that regularly and was kind enough to send him my way. At that point, we were still a group of only five or so and our only work product was my blog ranting about the sorry state of traditional media and raving about all the cool things we'd do once we found two nickels to rub together.
The first half of the segment is about "The Zany Sports Lady," who seems to have largely disappeared from the Interwebs. Her old site is gone and October is the most recent post I can find on a new hockey site on which she was working. It looks like she was news director at KLAK for a while.
Tracy takes a now-amusing hard line on the rough-and-tumble blog world in this clip -- You'll see in the Uncle Barky interview that his position has softened a bit. At any rate, I'll always be grateful that Tracy was kind enough to let me rant on-air about what was then a bit of vaporware. It's a nice full-circle that 2 1/2 years later we're getting a chance to broadcast him talking about his future plans.

Funny looking back on this that at the time the notion that I could get this video posted and easily viewable online was utterly foreign. Truly, the dark ages of the Interwebs.

So . . . not only did he give the URL as "pegasus.com," Rowlett also distinctly called you "Mike Norren" at 2:28. Apparently bloggers are the inaccurate ones to watch out for.

While you wait, here's Glenn Hunter's take on Saturday's proceedings:

I was saving it for the video post, but Glenn's right. No love for Regent Ducas.
