Entrepreneurs looking for a Spring should go to the Infomart Monday afternoon

Posted By Mike Orren in Square Pegs on July 21, 2008

Our pal Alex Muse has gotten really fired up lately about improving the opportunities through entrepreneurs via a community of experienced entrepreneurs, angels, VCs, etc. He's hosting a semiweekly happy our called SpringStage at the InfoMart to bring these types of folks together.

It wasn't so long ago that I was beating the streets for capital to launch Our Little Business, and I was indeed disappointed with the capital and resources available here in North Texas. I was able to find some Angels in our niche, but for bigger capital, it was an exercise in futility until I made a trip to the West Coast. One trip there and the floodgates opened. That means (IMHO) that there was (and is) a hole in the local marketplace.

I'm interested to see how/if this group gels and will be there this afternoon. If you've got a business, or an idea (and even in this economy, paradoxically, you should have both.)

If you're joining in, try to RSVP here so they know how many to expect.

Thanks for the plug. Don't set your expectations too high, we are just seeding the community by casually getting together on a regular basis. I suspect we will hit our stride in the Fall. In the meantime, happy hour get togethers are VERY low risk.

Big turnout-- I'd guess maybe 50 people. Met some interesting people/companies. Great success...
