So we had a super-secret private VIP party at downtown winery Swirll last night. (More below on who was there and how.)
Proprietors Louis and Peg Davion treated us to a wide selection of wines that had been made right there on site and we all enjoyed delicious hors d' oeurves from The Catering Company. (I particularly enjoyed the paninis and the lobster spoons.)
Here are some photos from the evening, courtesy my lovely bride:

Gathering, sipping and chatting.

Louis addresses the party. He made an amazing offer to the group-- each attendee got to reserve a $320 wine and cheese tasting class for eight, absolutely free.

More of the scene.

At a PegNews event, everyone's a reporter or photog.

People were jumping on the tasting class signup.
So who were these dining dignitaries, these culinary kings and queens? When our friends (and advertisers) at Swirll said they wanted to meet some members of the Pegasus News community, we invited our most active food and wine aficionados, based on Daily You profiles.
It was great to chat with some of our longtime community members and to meet some folks that we had previously only known by username. (We had nametags with everyone's username and profile avatar as well as their real name.)
A good time was had by all (all whom I spoke to, at least), so we'll likely do more such parties for foodies and for other Daily You interest groups. If you want an invite next time we do something that closely matches your interests, all you've got to do is:

Agree with Miko. Good times were had by all and the paninis and lobster spoons were crucial!
We signed up for a future winemaking gig. I'm mildly amazed I avoided being in every single picture. Boom!

Nice!
Wish I could have made it; didn't sign up b/c I thought I'd have previous obligations. Looking forward to another opportunity, Miko!

April Orren (the attorney Trophy bride whose radiant golden locks blinded the lame and revived the drunken) was the paparazzi goddess who shot these photos as we drank the fresh young wine like teens at a sans-adult all-night Vegas rave.
Missing: The shot of Mike Orren prone of the surf board being fed grapes by the sarong clad fire twirlers.

Fabulous event-great wine! I'm so glad we got to experience Swirll in the heart of downtown. I'll be more than happy to spread the word! ..and yes, the prosciutto, brie, and pear paninis were amazing!

That it was! TJ and I had a great time meeting everyone and getting to put faces with avatars. The wine was good-did any one try to port? The food-agree about the paninis, but the lobster spoons rocked! Thanks for putting the shindig together Pegasus News!

Thank you for the invitation! I had wanted to get down to Swirll before, and was glad to get a chance to see how the whole system operates. Some of the white wines were especially interesting, too.
So interesting to see all the other Pegasus folks. We were definitely the least hip couple there!

Sorry Lisa -- you need to read more food and wine content. But I'm sure you'll get another chance...
