Got an urgent one here: We need a band to play this gig on Wednesday evening outdoors in the West End. The band booked had to cancel due to a death in the family.
The "pay" for this gig is that our videographer extraordinaire Mike Bullock will shoot your entire gig. We'll run edited clips here on PegNews, on local cable access TV (Dallas iMedia) and will give you a copy for your own use. Since this is really last minute, we can also throw in some ads for an upcoming gig you have elsewhere in town.
These have been a nice series of shows that we've done throughout May and June. There have been nice crowds getting exposure to local music and we've been told that all the bands have enjoyed it. I should also note that we know of at least three bands who have gotten cash-paying gigs as a result of these mini-showcases and that the West End is looking for bands for a paying 4th of July weekend gig. I imagine that this would be a good way to potentially lock up one of those slots while also getting a nice promotional tool.
