PlayRadioPlay! contest— enter fast, win fast

Square Pegs

Fort Worth's own PlayRadioPlay! is having a big day on Sunday as he (Dan Hunter) is celebrating the release of his new disc, Texas.

He starts with an in-store at Good Records, followed by a full gig along with Yellowcard,The Spill Canvas, Secondhand Serenade, PlayRadioPlay! and Treaty of Paris at The Granada.

You can win a pair of free tickets to the show in one of our usual-model favoriting contests. Registered users (fast/easy/free) can enter by clicking "Add to favorites" on PlayRadioPlay!'s band profile, the page for the Granada Show and the Good Records in-store. Each one will count as one entry and then we'll draw tomorrow at noon.

This is a last-minute deal, so get in quick.

Now that was a contest! With only three people favoriting these events, each of us had a GREAT chance of winning! I mean, I'm sad I didn't win, but wow! That was easy! lol

I'm a bigger fan of the show and the band vs. the show and the venue. Just b/c you like a venue doesn't mean you'd enjoy each show they host...hopefully that's the thinking behind the change. Speak to me, Miko!

Scott, all things being equal, that's part of it. But in this world of filthy lucre, variables to be considered include who is toting the note. In this case, the advertiser is the record label, not the venue. If the venue was chipping in, we might look at it differently. Another key variable is whether the band is local -- a lot of times we're giving away tickets to nonlocal touring acts, so there's no band page to favorite.

Still making it up as we go, and tweaks/changes will always be the norm...

You mean people who contribute more than just comments have the upper hand?!

Can't blame ya. I'm not a local music snob anyways - keep up the good work!
