Favoriting contest: Joe Satriani / Mountain at HOB

Posted By Mike Orren in Square Pegs on October 30, 2008

Guitar god Joe Satriani is at HOB next Thursday and we've got two pair of tickets to hand out, courtesy our friends (and advertisers) at House of Blues. AND, the opening act is Mountain, whom Rock Band gamers know as the band who plays "Mississippi Queen."

You (should) know the drill by now: Go to the show page and click the "Add to favorites" link to enter (requires free / easy / painless registration). We'll draw winners on Wednesday morning and will need you to respond promptly to our email with your details so we can get you on the will call list.

I could miss Satriani's show without guilt, but I'd be interested to hear what Mountain sounds like these days.
So, is Leslie West still alive? (Mountain singer/guitarist) Is he touring with them? Just curious. They did some cool stuff other than Mississippi Queen- Never In My Life, Sittin' On A Rainbow. West had a great guitar style.

It is billed as featuring Leslie West.

Rick,

I saw Mountain perform a couple of years ago at the Ridglea in Fort Worth...yes, Leslie West and Corky Laing. Bass player was Ritchie Scarlett. I loved hearing Nantucket Sleighride.
