Ultimate Hurricane Ike event cancellation thread

This comment about the rescheduling of the Pooch Prom reminded me that there are likely to be a lot of weather cancellations this weekend. Post any you know of in the comments here and we'll update the calendar as things roll in.

Due to Hurricane Ike, the Eagles Concert at Toyota Center for tonight, Thursday, September 11, 2008 has been postponed until Thursday, October 2, 2008. Tickets for tonight's performance will be honored at the rescheduled date.

"Unfortunately due to Hurricane Ike and the upcoming inclement weather, we have had to postpone our event until Sept. 27th. We will have Waterfest on Sept. 27th from 10 am - 7 pm."

The start time for the McKinney Boyd High School versus Copperas Cove High School football game tonight has been moved up from 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The gates will open this evening at 5:00 p.m. at Ron Poe Stadium. The change was made at the request of Copperas Cove High School due to the potential for inclement weather during their travel home.

The All About Uptown Festival has been POSTPONED to Saturday, September 27th. In the best interest of safety for the Uptown community, the All About Uptown Festival will not take place on Saturday, September 13th. High winds and torrential rains are expected for the North Texas region throughout the weekend.

Well, if your event got cancelled you'll have time on your hands. The Salvation Army has put out a call for volunteer help.
Under a partnership agreement Red Cross runs the shelters but the "Sally" is responsible for preparing and serving 3 meals a day to all the evacuees in all the local shelters (Dallas, Ft. Worth, Denton County, Ellis County, and Collin County) Volunteer groups or individuals can sign up for a meal shift at http://www.volunteernorthtexas.org/Vo... or http://form-now.com/dfw/volunteer.htm
They need hundreds of volunteers daily - possibly 700+ if all potential shelter sites are activated.
