The Pulitzer Prizes for 2009 were announced and Damon Winter, formerly of the Dallas Morning News, won the feature photography prize "for his memorable array of pictures deftly capturing multiple facets of Barack Obama's presidential campaign".
Damon worked at the DMN in the early 2000s; his humble demeanor and positive attitude made him universally beloved by all of his coworkers. He's been at the New York Times since May 2007.
A slide show of his winning photos is here.
