It's been a while since I've taken a road trip to Austin so I didn't realize that the Starship Pegasus off I-35 in Italy had been closed down since 2005.

That was such a sweet idealistic venture. Founder-builder Andy Gee is in Galveston these days, but realtor Sandra Filip says that the 7.5-acre property is available for sale for $850,000, or for lease. (She can be reached at 817-295-1239.)
The miniature-golf range has eroded, but the building itself, a single-room monolothic dome, is still in great shape.

Our current Pegasus News HQ is also basically one room, but the Starship Pegasus has something we do not: walk-in fridge and bar. Yes.

Wait, it's been closed for 3 years and their website is still active? Sounds like someone needs to cut the cord.

Every time I drive by, I wish I could see what it's like inside. So far all I've done is walk around and sit in the little saucer and make little "vrooom whirr" noises.

Couldn't help but smile when the very next Square Pegs entry announced the sale - any potential of this actually coming to fruition? =p
