Favoriting contest: Los Lonely Boys / Del Castillo at The Granada
Posted By Mike Orren in Square Pegs on January 20, 2009
Our friends (and advertisers) at The Granada have a sweet show coming up on Sunday: Los Lonely Boys are playing a rare acoustic gig. And as if that isn't enough, Del Castillo -- whom I'd just as soon see as a headliner -- is opening.
Now that LLB is over all that "second-coming of Stevie Ray Vaughn" hoopla and that overplayed catchy hit that didn't do them justice, what you've got left is a madly talented bunch of Texan musicians in their most distilled form. Here's a rough idea of what you're in for:
They've graced us with two pair of tickets to the show, which we'll be giving out via a favoriting contest. (Yeah, we know it's been a while. Things were slow o'er the holidays.) Go to the show page on PegNews and click "Add to favorites" to enter (requires free / easy / painless registration and login). We'll draw two winners on Thursday night and put them on the guestlist for the show.

Nothing against LLB, but DEL CASTILLO is one of the most under-rated bands I've ever seen. The two guitarists are AMAZING. If you've never seen these bands, I encourage you to go.
