NorthPark gets props from retail history site
Posted By Mike Orren in Square Pegs on March 26, 2009
We all know that NorthPark Center is a nice hybrid of mega-mall, museum and classy stroll. Nice to see that recognized in an in-depth post on "retail history" blog Labelscar.
The post celebrates NorthParks adaptability in evolving to changing times. Commenters are duly impressed.

It did as a retail site, ruin the out dated casual stroll down,... Downtown Dallas on Elm street on a hot summer day...from the mid 1960's to the 1990's or even today...A/T, ..AC on Elm street.

AT- "Yes!" As a youngster, I remember my Mom and I riding the city bus to downtown to go shopping. I remember walking (in the fresh air- well maybe a little car exhaust) down Elm St. past shop after shop. Almost everything you can find in a mall now, you used to find on a BUSY downtown Dallas street. We've now opted for A/C and against a thriving downtown.
