Priceless WFAA promo video, ca. 1980
Posted By Mike Orren in Square Pegs on March 27, 2009
Via Bud Kennedy, a great YouTube of an in-house promotional video produced by WFAA in 1980. 1980, when disco hadn't completely died and Leeza Gibbons hosted PM Magazine. Mr. Peppermint was still on, and local stations bragged about who got the most scoops at the national party conventions.

Gotta love the modern dance intro, especially Iola Johnson getting funky and Jerry Oher doing his thing. About 2 mins you get a Cesar Chavez on Que Pasa clip...

Whoa! I don't know what scares me the most, the disco, the hair or the bell bottoms that were already out of style.
Good Gravy! They're all so young... and FLUFFY!

That was so sweet I actually had to watch the whole thing. Bill Ratliff's white shorts were especially awesome.

"PM offers tips from some of the most informative people on...how to stay healthy...how to swing..."
Wow, WFAA really knew how to appeal to all segments of society back in the day, didn't they?

What Jason won't admit is that he's all about the fluffy.

Man this is way funnier than it should be. Troy D. still in the mix. I'd almost forgotten about Vern. My mom was on "Bowling For Dollars" once.
