Clarence Clemons stunk it up
Posted By Alan Cohen in Soundcheck on June 19, 2006

Did anyone else notice how badly Clarence Clemons struggled through the national anthem last night before the game? Playing only a handful of sixteen bar solos the same way note for note your entire career will not make you a great musician. And the sunglasses were unnecessary. And go back to the E Street Band. And even if you miss some notes, at least play the right notes in tune.
Wait wait wait. I'm sorry Clarence. I'm just in a bad mood from the game last night. I didn't mean to take it out on you. It was perhaps the most painful loss ever. I hope you understand my frustration Mr. Clemons. You can do better next time.

I totally agree - and did even before the game pissed me off. Was so uncomforatble a performance I was squirming in my kitchen table seat. Horrible idea.
And I renew my plea to the Mavs-- Erykah Badu tomorrow, please!

Or be like the Stars and trot out their inexplicable good luck charm during their 1999 Cup run: B.J. Thomas.

Dude, Clarence was not so bad. It was his piano player that messed the whole thing up.

Wasn't the piano a recorded track?
