The Beach Boys with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Beach Boy trivia: Though surfing was a prominent theme in many of the Beach Boys' early songs, Dennis Wilson was the only original member who surfed. What I actually heard him say was that it was Michael Bolton with Celine Dion opening.

My parents dragged me to a lot of concerts as a kid. Some were great shows, and even if they aren't musically my cup of tea now, they have informed my love of live performance.
Bolton/Dion was circa 1987. Celine was an "unknown," but my mom loved her. I spent most of the show wanting to gouge my eardrums.
However, my early live concert education included Kenny Rogers, Barry Manilow, The Village People, Huey Lewis, Alabama and most notably The Eagles circa 1976. (I was four.)
