In my opinion the best band/music critics are those that ARE musicians, artists, songwriters. I mentioned the band Mur last Saturday night at a table full of great musicians and the entire group unanimously agreed Mur is one great band.
Mur released their debut self-titled album last month, produced by Jeff Halbert at Last Beat Studios in Dallas. I will definitely pick up a copy at Bill's Records this Friday. You can also order a copy online here.
Mur is Jonathan Price, Chad Murray, Matt Krunkle & Max Hartman; and they are sharp dudes, let me tell ya. They've got a great website here with a couple of MP3's for the ears.
