The Good Show turns 5 this month and there's one sweet-arse paaartay tonight at the Black Dog Tavern to celebrate!
FM 88.7-KTCU's The Good Show will present its 5th Anniversary Concert on Friday, October 21, at the Black Dog Tavern, 903 Throckmorton in downtown Fort Worth. Doors are scheduled to open at 5 pm. Performers will include some of the Metroplex's best emerging acts: [ alphabetically ] Dirt Blazers Eaton Lake Tonics Gift Culture Goodwin Lazer Man Factory Smile Smile Sunday Drive Attendees are requested to make a $10 donation at the door to Therapy House, a Fort Worth non-profit organization specializing in the treatment of autism. The Good Show, featuring hosts Tom Urquhart, Chris Bellomy, Tony Diaz and Neil Schnell, first aired on KTCU in October 2000. Eschewing the conventions of commercial radio, The Good Show airs an eclectic mix of underappreciated music each week, alongside original radio sketch comedy and Schnell's paean to musical failure, "The Bad Show," which closes each show. The show has received numerous awards from local media, including "Best Radio Show" from Fort Worth Weekly and "Best Radio Show with the Worst Reception" from the Dallas Observer. The Good Show airs Sunday nights on 88.7 KTCU-FM from 9 until 12:30. Therapy House of Fort Worth was founded in 2001 by Nancy Wainscott and Cara Thomas to provide intensive intervention therapy for children with autism spectrum disorders in the greater Fort Worth area. Over the four years of its existence, Therapy House has treated over 70 children with a remarkable rate of success. Therapy House provides direct one on one therapy, and an individualized therapeutic treatment plan that includes the entire family. For information on Therapy House, contact Nancy Wainscott or Cara Thomas at 817.735.1851 or therapyhouse.org
