The Awesome SXSW Adventures of Flat-Cindy (Day Two)
Posted By Cindy Chaffin in TexasGigs - Cindy's Original Blog on March 16, 2006
Mornin' sunshine. It's about 7ish AM. Flat-Cin is still dozing quietly in the next bed. I awoke to the sounds of the big-rigs roaring down I-35. I hate that first "where the hell am I" feeling when you wake up in a strange place.
Time to get my arse in gear. I'm perusing the SXSW line-up (both official and unofficial) right now to figure out a solid plan...and stick to it dadgumit!
I might ring-up Garrison and Chris and see what their plans are. They are major music hipsters and will point me in the right direction. My Hime sent me a most pleasant list of good shows for this eve, but I gotsta whole day to fill.
I think my first stop will be the SXSW headquarters to cash-in on the free shhhhhwaaaag.

Oh well...lemme mull it over in the shower. More later, stick around....
(Side note: I just took a peek out the window to check the weather, which is foggy, misty and very overcast, and there's a guy sleeping outside the door of a room down the hall. I gotta get the hell outta here...)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Looking over ShowListAustin.com, I found a few more good picks:
Go! Team at Waterloo Records at 3 PM
The Strangeboys at Emo's IV Stage at 4:30 PM
Ted Leo & the Pharmacists / Stereo Gum / Rogue Wave / What Made Milwaukee Famous and more at Parish Room
The Lord Henry / Handsome Charlies / Tah-Dahs / at Trophy's
South Austin Jug Band at Red Eyed Fly at 5 PM
Marah / Milton Mapes / Adrienne Young & Little Sadie / and more at Jovita's Outdoor stage for TwangFest
There are tons more...I've GOT to get out of this motel room!
Flat-Cindy waves buh-bye to the lovely Parkside Inn & Suites in Sam Marcos. But before we leave, she insisted I show you a picture of the world's oldest microwave that the Parkside Inn & Suites so kindly installed in our "suite."
More to come...

Yo P,
I'll pick you up some stuff too and we'll dump it out on the floor at the Fat Caddy's showcase tomorrow and pick over it like Halloween candy!
