Bill’s Records Goes Southside

TexasGigs - Cindy's Original Blog

Word on the street is that Bill's Records will move from it's 20-something year stay at Coit and Spring Valley to the Southside area of Downtown Dallas.

I'll go over and get full details from Bill later today. I know Bill has been negotiating with the strip center he's been in for so long, but they are raising his rent to a point in which he'll begin to lose money. More later....

Cindy now blogs at The Fine Line.

Okay, It's really hard to imagine all of that getting ....moved. Wow. I hope this will result in some sort of clearance sale. I noticed the khyi concerts had no beer the last couple times I went. Was this a TABC deal?

Wow. Yay for more cool businesses south of downtown, but I can only imagine moving Bill's store... What a project that will be.

I was at Bill's last Friday thinking about what an undertaking it would be to move all that stuff - here are some pics I took from last week - http://www.texasgigs.com/news/2006/ma...

Sulaveho, there were folks drinking canned beer last Friday, but I think the freebie beer ended. The station had a deal with Humperkink's Restaurant who provided the free beer each week.

I "believe" khyi still sponsors the "Live @bills" on saturday - complete w/beer but the Friday shows, even though MC'ed by somone from KHYI (usually Greg Patterson), aren't sponsored and have no beer :-(
