One more Saturday night! After another crazy music filled night (Shawn Nelson & The Ramblers, Jason Bales & The Revival, The Transcenders and then the "Bop-a-lena Afterparty") I am ready to rock again this morning! (make that this afternoon...I got home around 5am)
Tonight @ Hailey's in Denton is The Lymbyc Systym! (with Notes From The Underground & This Will Destroy You) They are Jared & Mike Bell, brothers from Arizona who just "put it down" on keys and drums (and laptop). If you like the Benevento/Russo Duo, then you will love these guys. I stumbled upon them when they opened for Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey at the Gypsy Tea Room on 11/30/05 and they came back through GTR again with Dead Kenny G's & Hairy Apes BMX on 1/26/06 (where we got this picture of Cory Bernstein, Mike & Jared Bell, and then me)
They recorded their November show and released it as a live album and I bought the first copy of its release! (if you are able to find a copy of this album, you can hear Cory and me cheering between songs) Live 11.30.05 is an awesome recording featuring all of the songs on Carved By Glaciers plus some cool remixes after the full GTR show.
Come on up to Hailey's tonight...it will be a fun show!
