This is one I've been jonesing for us to have for a while. If you're a registered user, you'll notice a change in the way your name appears when logged in. Click on the locale and you'll see that you can now have multiple addresses (like work, home, school, etc.) on your profile.
What does that mean practically? For now it effects which stories show up in your neighborhood section and the default locale for your event search.
It's the first step in the GIS-enabled madness we're planning on rolling out in the New Year. Expect enhanced search of events, restaurants, movies, recent crime reports and just about everything else. Drink specials between office and home anybody?
(And for the stalkers in the house, that home address is my neighborhood elementary school, so don't get any bright ideas...)

Mike, question:
For the lazy users, such as myself, who tend not to logout between home and work...is the locale specific only to your username or will it be different at each IP address? Would be kinda nice if it stayed "Work" at my office but "Home" at mi casa without having to manually change it everytime I check PegNews.
I dig the idea, regardless. I realize I could just wait 'til I get home tonight and test it myself, but unless I see this post again odds are decent that I'll forget. =p

Scott -
Actually, your current address is based on your browser's cookie, not your IP address. So if you're using the same computer and the same browser, your current address won't change unless you change it. But if you're using a different computer or even a different browser on the same computer (such as IE and Firefox installed on the same machine) you can have each set to its own current address.

Oh, very good - they're different computers.
Appreciate it David.
