O.K., we PegNewsers may be moving slowly on the second day of 2008, but folks, we're moving. Take Erin, for instance, who's on her way back from the Big Sleazy where she rang in the New Year in (one presumes) grand Bourbon Street style. And Catherine arrived at the plush PegNews HQ this morning looking somewhat flustered, having spent more time than anticipated in one airport or another trying to fly back from her festive long weekend in Montana, home of dental floss farms and her friend's vacation cabin.

Catherine will be jumping right into things by working the metro shift this morning, while film guy (yours truly) works to finish up a review for this weekend ( There Will Be Blood ) and also scans the local university news. Laura S. is updating galleries, and the rest of the crew are pulling their usual oars as we row boldly where no galley has sailed before - to mangle a modicum of metaphors.
