May 19, 2008: At War, Sex and Death 101, and video

Work In Progress

Film guy John is interviewing Pulitzer Prize-winning local photographer David Leeson about his new film At War. He'll also be a celebrity judge tomorrow night screening entries in the 24 Hour Dallas Video Race completed Saturday. Of the 100 teams registered, only 64 met the deadline.

McKinney Minnie is polishing her profile of city manager Frank Ragan and is working to spread the news of the Irving library's annual book sale.

Alex is previewing the film Sex and Death 101 but is uncertain about its release date.

Erin prepares for the next Pegasus News Showcase (video from the last one is still online). She's also editing video from Mayfest for Pegasus News on the Tube on the iMedia network.

We also welcome our new summer intern Scott Guthrie. Make him feel welcome and/or cut him some slack.

Akira Sato Jazz trumpeter Akira Sato, by way of Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada, is an SMU faculty member and director of The Meadow Jazz Orchestra at SMU. He is also an adjunct faculty member at UNT where he teaches jazz arranging. Sato is also heading into the studio soon with other area musicians and playing at the Scat Jazz Lounge tonight. With all that he's up to, the least you could do is order a Scotch on the rocks and chill to some tunes. (Photo by flickr user arteunporro. More info
