Blair Lovern

Blair is known for his still lifes and seascapes with marine objects. He paints in tempera with dreamlike clarity and precision. His brother, Ernst, was awarded the Nobel Prize for chemistry for demonstrating that alcoholic fermentation comes not from physiological but from chemical processes in the yeast. Most recently, Blair led a few hundred Spartan warriors to a mountain pass called the Gates of Hell to defend their town from an invasion of millions of Persians.
