The cityâs Fourth of July parade â themed Celebrating Unity Among ONE Community â is set for 9 a.m. July 4 in downtown Irving. The parade will travel south on Sowers Road, west on Irving Boulevard, around Millennium Park fountain, east on Second Street, north on Lucille Street, and then west onto Irving Boulevard.
Parade participants are encouraged to design floats that represent America with special emphasis on: American monuments, landmark achievements and famous historians.
Following the parade, festivities will be held at Heritage Park at Main and Second streets. Attendees can enjoy a patriotic jazz concert, childrenâs activities and free watermelon. There is no admission charge for the event, which is produced by the cityâs Parks and Recreation Department.
Later on July 4, the Irving Symphony Orchestra will present a free concert and fireworks display at Williams Square, 5215 N. OâConnor Blvd. The concert begins at 8:30 p.m. with fireworks immediately following at approximately 9:30 p.m. Garage parking is available for $5. The event is produced by the Irving Symphony Orchestra Association through support provided by the City of Irving.
