Chili Cook-off THE RULES 1. Traditional Red Chili is defined by the International Chili Society as any kind of meat or combination of meats, cooked with red chili peppers, various spices and other ingredients. We do allow beans.
All chili will be cooked prior to the commencement of the cook- off. You will need to bring your chili in a crock pot or warming dish ready to be tasted by the judges and guests by 7:30.
Decorations and costumes are encouraged.
Contestants are responsible for supplying all of their own Chili, utensils, cheese, crackers, etc. Poor David's will provide an area for each contestant and in some instances stoves and/or electrical outlets.
The entry fee is $25.00. With this fee you will receive 2 guest passes to the show.
Awards will be given to the top 3 contestants.
Each contestant must cook a minimum of two quarts of competition chili prepared in one pot, which will be submitted for judging and tasting.
Judges will be told they should vote for the chili they like best based on the following major considerations: good flavor, texture of the meat, consistency, blend of spices, aroma, and color.
The decisions of the Chief Judge shall be final.

Michael Harberg, says:
Had a blast last night! Check out all 3 of these bands...they all put on really fun shows! Keep rockin guys! (and I'd like to suggest that more bands incorporate culinary contests and charitable causes into their shows...THANK YOU!)
Thanks to all of the chili contestants and congrats to the winners! I liked all of the different chilis...even the vegetarian one, but Lou's and Ryan's wife's stood out to me. (It probably didn't help that Lou's burned out my tastebuds first before I could get to any of the others)
See yall soon!
