30th Annual Highland Park Village Tree Lighting Ceremony
November 24, 2006
Highland Park mayor William White, along with members of the Henry S. Miller, Jr. family, will preside over the ceremony which has become known as the 'Night of a Million Lights'. Gospel singers, a holiday performance, Santa and his sleigh − all will play a role in the festival which will culminate with a magnificent illumination of the Village’s holiday lights and enormous Christmas tree in center court. In one magical moment at approximately 6:00 p.m., more than a million lights will blanket the sky in a wondrous canvas of twinkling white. Following the ceremony, the Highland Park Village merchants will host complimentary 15-minute carriage rides around the town of Highland Park to view the extraordinary holiday decorations adorning many area homes. The traditional carriage rides have long been a Highland Park Village hallmark during the holidays.
