los abandoned will hit the road this September in support of Mix Tape, their debut album released on Sanctuary/Vapor Records September 12th. This Latin punk pop band will be providing support for headliners El Gran Silencio on 5 dates, Birdmonster for 11 dates, and Julieta Venegas for the final 2 dates. los abandoned will also be on stage at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City. The tour kicks off September 22nd in Sacramento, CA and wraps 58 days later in San Francisco, CA (dates below).
los abandoned is made up of 4 unique individuals â Lady P on vocals, Don Verde on guitar, Vira Lata on bass and Dulce on drums. Remaining true to their distinctiveness, the band has built their name and reputation as total originals, reflected not only in their music but their presentation as well. They sing in Spanish and English. They switch from one language to the other, not just within songs, but within sentences. Their fans range from indie rockers to third generation rockeros. It doesnât matter if the listener can speak Espanol, los abandonedâs songs translate based on their catchiness and universal appeal.
Touring constantly, los abandoned has built a dedicated following that has quickly caught the eye of the Los Angeles media. The band has recently been featured in the Los Angeles Times, New York Daily News, La Opinion, OC & LA Weekly, Al Borde and La Banda Elastica. Television have picked up on the band, featuring los abandoned on the groundbreaking bilingual music and culture television program, LATV Live as well as in a segment on KTLA on up and coming Latino rock bands. Not to be left behind, Los Angeles radio has supported los abandoned, with legendary DJ Rodney Bingerheimer from KROQ and Nic Harcourt from KCRW both adding tracks to their playlist.
Thereâs a reason the New York Daily News featured los abandoned: âMixing together everything from â80s pop-rock to squealing guitars and assorted electronic tidbits, this Los Angeles quartet cranks out.â
