Irene Gomez has studied under such masters as Gentil Montaña, Ramiro Isaza, Javier Quevedo, Alberto Ponce and Betho Davezak. She was the first guitarist to graduate Suma Cum Laude from the National University of Colombia. Gomez has performed in the U.S., Spain, Germany, France, Switzerland, The Check Republic and Colombia. In this concert, she will perform works by Jacques Castérede, Jorge Morel, Francisco Tárrega and Roland Dyens.
UTDâs School of Arts & Humanitiesâ Faculty at Five series is an informal concert series, created and sponsored by the music faculty, usually during the second or third week of each month. These concerts feature UTDâs own faculty and invited guests performing and talking about music making.
