Description
The new Spring Tour presented by The Dallas Opera’s Emerging Artists Program features a variety of works including “Adele’s Laughing Song” from Die Fledermaus, “Papegeno’s Aria” from The Magic Flute, “Habanera” from Carmen and “There’s a Boat That’s Leavin’ Soon for New York” from Porgy and Bess. All of the pieces will be sung in English.
Singers will guide the audience through an autobiographical portrait which depicts the order of musical events in their life that led to a career in opera. The performers will use suitcases and artist tool kits containing equipment, props, costumes, and other materials to weave their life’s story into a scene from standard or contemporary repertoire.
