The Real. Texas. Festival. is a three day music/arts/food/extreme sports festival slated for April 26-28 at the Mesquite Resistol Arena and surrounding environs.
It features a special bull riding event held in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the rodeo, as well as an all Mesquite flavor cooking contest, vendors and an all-Texas music jam.
Entertainers scheduled to perform include Bleu Edmondsen, Jason Boland and the Stragglers and Kevin Fowler on Friday; and Jon Christopher Davis, Jarrod Birmingham, The Lost Trailers, Charlie Robison and Jack Ingram on Saturday.
There is also a carnival, a firefighter olympics, kids activities and more.
