Spring Awakening

Written in 1891, Spring Awakening was one of the most censored plays of the early 20th century due to its frank treatment of adolescent sexuality, but is today considered an important, groundbreaking work. The story revolves around three 14-year olds struggling with puberty and receiving repressive, conflicting messages but little guidance from adults, with grim consequences. The guest director will be Richard Hamburger, ex-Artistic Director of the Dallas Theatre Center.
Note: With themes including abortion, homosexuality, rape, suicide, and including significant sexual content, the play is recommended for mature audiences only.
