Description

The short videos included within this group share a kinship both in subject matter and mode of production with the emerging Slack-a-vettes, or Mumble-core film movement. The Outlaw Son, Leave, Intervention and Grammy's all treat drifting twenty somethings who struggle to define themselves. Our everydays are not marked by police chases, or hostage crisis, or Zombie monkeys, they are made up of complex minutia, perpetual uncertainty, and glaring misjudgments in clothing and hairstyles. This group of videos attempts to capture what is interesting and depressing and bizarre about ordinary humanity. The term Slack-a-vettes refers to the blending of 90's Slacker-chic with the emotional complexities that resonate in the works of master filmmaker John Cassavettes.

Saturday Tastings in the Wine and Beer Department Little Joey just LOVES the Saturday wine tastings at Central Market - he particularly likes the blind tastings, when he can sneak a snort while Mommie's not looking. (Great nose!) More info
