Description
The full-length "tragic comedy," All of the Above, tells the story of Helene, a philanthropist who cannot hear, see or speak; and Edward, a former thief who has had his hands amputated by a repressive regime. Helene finds new hands for Edward and smuggles him out of his country, and the two fall in love. But because of the limitations of Edward's new hands, they can only speak by signing through Charlotte, Helene's unstable interpreter, and the resulting triangle nearly undoes them all.
The play, which mingles dark humor and frank sexuality with a sense of the divine presence, is set in a parallel version of the present day, a sort of composite world.
Written by Tom Sime and directed by Marianne Galloway.
