Ever since satirical cartoons of the prophet Muhammad were published in a Danish newspaper in 2005, the work of editorial cartoonists has become more than just funny business.
Jean Plantu, one of the most famous political cartoonists in France, will create drawings for the audience and discuss his work at the UT Arlington Library from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, on the sixth floor of the Central Library, 702 Planetarium Place.
For more than 30 years, Plantu has skewered politicians on both sides of the Atlantic, from Presidents George Bush to Jacques Chirac, in the pages of Le Monde and The New York Times.
