Learn what you need to do to take care of family and organizational materials handed down through generations or to preserve the photos you’re taking today Topics will include techniques to organize and preserve papers and photos, electronic information and digital photos; how to protect and preserve decorative arts such as furniture, quilts, ceramics; and how to do an oral history project (Friday session). Presenters are Rebecca Hankins, an assistant professor and archivist from Texas A&M University and Wayne Coleman, Head of the Archives Division at the Birmingham Civil Rights Museum. Registration for the workshop is $10.00 for Museum and NABSE members and $25.00 for non-members. Workshop materials and lunch are included. The registration deadline is February 22, 2007.
