Features readings and book signings by writers of African American sports history, begins at 12:00 Noon. Writers include athletes, coaches and sports journalists. One of the featured writers will be David Lattin, the starting center for the University of Texas, El Paso (formerly Texas Western) Miners in their NCAA champion season in 1966. He played under legendary coach Don Haskins. Lattin later competed in the National Basketball Association and American Basketball Association. He was a first round draft pick of the San Francisco Warriors and played professional basketball for the Warriors and the Phoenix Suns for eight seasons. Also in the line-up Dallas Morning News sports columnist Jean Jacques Taylor author of “Game of My Life: Dallas Cowboys”.
