Altar Boyz

Altar Boyz, the acclaimed musical comedy is the winner of the coveted Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical Off-Broadway, and the longest running new musical comedy to open in New York in years! And it recently won the 2006 Audience Award for Favorite Long Running Off-Broadway Show (over Stomp, Blue Man Group and I Love You You¹re Perfect...) from the readers of Broadway.com.

Full of sharp parody, sinfully spectacular dancing, and irreverent humor, this spoof about a heavenly guy-group is adored by audiences and critics alike. With an extraordinary mix of side-splitting songs convincing enough to be played on MTV, uncontrollable laughs and lighthearted fun, this award-winning and totally original new musical is 90 minutes of pure delight that's suitable for all ages and will have the whole family laughing and singing along.

Not to be a spoilsport, but there seems to be an odd commonality in most of these comments. Few of our users "sign" their comments and fewer still do it in the same style and with practically the same message on the same story.

Prolly a coincidence. And I do hear that the show is great. It certainly has great PR.

We appear to be the target of a street team promotion that incents members to earn "communion wafers" by posting comments favorable to the show.

This doesn't mean the show isn't good -- I've heard it is quite good. But it means you shouldn't necessarily decide that based on these comments.

Altar Boyz is, by far, one of the more popular shows out there right now, and with good reason! The cast is absolutely phenomenal, blending together seamlessly as a "real" boy band (let's face it: no boy band has ever been truly real), and dancing far better. It's well worth seeing!
