Description
This year’s parade will honor the wounded soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. The event will be kicked off by two military flyovers. This year’s event is expected to be the biggest event yet, topping the 161 entries that participated in the 2006 event. Special viewing stands will be set up along the parade route for wounded soldiers and their families to view the parade from. In addition, a large contingent of both current and vintage military equipment will participate in support of the event. A high ranking military commander will be leading off the parade. Several other high ranking military commanders will also be in attendance. The balance of the funds will be used locally by the Burleson Lions Club for vision services and scholarships.
