It's a non-stop laugh-fest when a crafty slave named Pseudolus struggles to win the hand of a beautiful but slow-witted courtesan for his young master, in exchange for freedom. Other unforgettable zany characters include a domineering wife and her quiet husband, a conceited but powerful Roman soldier, and a head-slave who thinks he's in charge but who isn't. Deception and mistakes abound. Just when you think they'll get away with it, a new twist in the plot requires even more prevarication, and the story gets even more crazy. Two classic songs of musical comedy have come from this show: "Comedy Tonight" and "Everybody Ought to Have a Maid."
This production is a revival of Theatre Coppell's very first production in 1988, when the laughs never stopped.
