Description
The 16th Collin Classic is a rural bicycle rally that will start and finish at the McKinney North High School. The event offers routes of 4, 15, 22, 34, 47 and 55 miles, to attract families, weekend warriors and avid cyclists.
The 4 mile route is a flat loop, designed for the family with kids who are not ready for an open road ride - but want to see what a big bike rally is all about. All other routes will cross over US 75 and ride out into the countryside of Northeastern Collin County.
For those who plan to ride a mountain bike, there is a 15 mile mountain bike only route that will travel those same roads, but it will take off cross country on a gravel road for several miles before rejoining the other routes.
The 22, 34, 47 and 55 mile routes are all single loop routes. The routes will travel to the Northeast portion of Collin County in order to avoid the chip seal pavement associated with the roads in Northwestern Collin County. There will also be plenty of rolling hills on these new routes that will provide plenty of challenge.
The 16th Collin Classic will have:
* Fully stocked break points along the way
* Support along the routes from area law enforcement personnel
* Roving bicycle mechanics providing technical assistance
* Medical support
* Showers in the finish area (at the high school)
* Free Chipotle tacos and more in the cafeteria after the ride
* Post ride massage available for a fee (in the cafeteria)
