Surviving Grace
June 15, 2007
Surviving Grace is a comedy about Alzheimer's. While comedy and Alzheimer's are two words that few people would use together, this play shows how, even in the saddest of circumstances and though it may not heal a physical illness, humor and laughter can heal the soul.
The Griswalds seem a typical middle class Jewish family in New York coping with their mother's illness. As her illness intensifies, the family becomes liberated; their idiosyncrasies and their foibles are so universal that it is no longer just about Alzheimer's, but about the power of love and how love connects us in unexpected ways.
