Bloodletters
March 15, 2007
Bloodletters is a split-level thriller — both comic and violent. Who is more real: Grace, a suburban horror-fiction writer, or the characters she creates? Bloodletters takes the audience on a roller-coaster ride, veering from the horrific mayhem of Grace’s stories to the domestic comedy and distress of her life. Since Grace always pictures her loved ones and acquaintances as the characters in her bloodthirsty tales, we see them all in both guises. The suspense heightens when Grace’s granddaughter reads the manuscript and figures out who’s who. The line between fiction and reality that was once blurred is brought into sharp focus and Grace is forced to come to grips with her domestic reality.
For mature audiences. Written by Tom Sime, Managing Director of Contemporary Theatre of Dallas. Tickets are pay what you can.
